PRESS RELEASE FOR PUBLICATIONLeonberg, 28th October 2015 GEZE supports circus gala for refugee children – delighted to put integration at the forefront On 18 October 2015, the city of Leonberg was host to a circus gala for refugee children and the population of Leonberg. GEZE, specialist in door, window and safety technology and headquartered in Leonberg near Stuttgart, supported the project with 3,500 euro, and thus ensured that the event had the financing. The circus event was jointly organised by local companies, public authorities and private individuals. All the parties involved in the circus project were united by a common aim: to bring some cheer to the main sufferers of the current refugee crisis – the children – and to bring them a few hours of happiness and fun. The 90-minute “Piccolo”circus show entertained young and old alike with clowns, jugglers and contortionists. There were also trapeze artists and magicians to marvel at. During the break, the children also had the chance to have a go at a few things with the artists. So this afternoon at the circus, at a site close to Leonberg hospital, was a great opportunity to bring refugee families and the people of Leonberg together in a relaxed way. "The current refugee crisis of course means that there are still a lot of major issues to overcome. However the Leonberg event shows that it is often the little things – such as laughing together – that bring people together,", says Brigitte Vöster-Alber, Chief Executive Officer of GEZE. "As a Leonberg-based company, we were happy to support this great idea which will help the refugee children and their families to integrate into our society." Social commitment – particularly for society's weakest – has always been a key issue for GEZE. The family business has been committed to supporting children for many years, for example by supporting the Olgäle-Stiftung für das kranke Kind e.V. at the Stuttgart Children's Hospital. GEZE has again arranged 150 sponsorships for the Plan International child aid agency, to give children worldwide the best possible conditions for their start in life.
