Manila Town Council Meeting Thursday March 12, 2015 Town Office Meeting Room 7:00 P.M. The regular meeting of the Manila Town Council was called to order by Council Member Lenita Steinaker at 7:00 P.M. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIENCE MEMBERS PRESENT:, Council Member Greg Scott, Council Member Lenita Steinaker, Council Member Ruby Hoover, Council Member Burl Twitchell, Town Clerk Lynette Asay; Mayor Dennis Long excused. GUESTS: Dave Hoover. MINUTES: Council Member Greg Scott made motion to approve the February 12, 2015 minutes; seconded by Council Member Ruby Hoover; motion carried. BILLS TO BE APPROVED: Council Member Burl Twitchell made motion to approve the warrant list dated 02/12/2015 – 03/12/2015; seconded by Council Member Ruby Hoover; motion carried. OCC REGISTER: Council Member Burl Twitchell made motion to approve the OCC Register dated 02/12/2015 – 03/12/2015, seconded by Council Member Greg Scott; motion carried. 2014 AUDIT: The Council was presented with the finished audit for the year 2014. PUBLIC WORKS TRUCK PURCHASE: The Council discussed the need for a public works truck, since the current one is going to cost more to repair than it is worth. Council Member Ruby Hoover presented the Council with the three bids that she received. The Council decided that they would like to purchase the new truck since it has a warranty. Council Member Greg Scott made a motion to purchase a new 2015 Chevy Silverado truck from Whistler Chevrolet. The purchase price for the new truck will be $32,123.00; Council Member Greg Scott made a motion to approve the purchase of the 2015 Chevy Silverado Truck; seconded by Council Member Burl Twitchell; motion carried. SURPLUS ITEMS: The Council still wants to surplus a few items. The Council discussed the process of putting the items on a surplus list. The Senior Bus and Van may need new batteries so that they are in working order before they are added to the list. There is also a need to make sure that the titles to the vehicles are available. The Council decided to put the items when they are ready on a list and take bids from interested Town Council Meeting Minutes February 12, 2015 APPROVED parties for the items. The Council wants to make sure that there is a minimum bid requirement for the items, so that the Town can get at least the value of the item. CORRESPONDENCE: The Manila High School Yearbook Club has requested that the Town put an ad in the yearbook. The Town has done this in the past. Council Member Greg Scott made a motion to put an ad in the yearbook for the $55.00; seconded by Council Member Burl Twitchell; motion carried. ADJOURNMENT: Council Member Ruby Hoover made motion to adjourn Town Council Meeting; seconded by Council Member Greg Scott; motion carried.
