Co-production Bel Air Media, Radio Classique, Mezzo and France 2. Yakov Kreizberg will conduct the Paris Orchestra, heading the musical direction by Christoph Estenbach. They will perform the 1st Symphony in D minor “Titan” by the Austrian composer Gustav Mahler. Composed between 1885 and 1888, this work was created in Budapest in November 1999 and its final version in four movements was elaborated in 1896 with the composer heading the musical direction. “Titan, a symphony-shaped symphonic poem” was the title of this work in 1893 but Mahler decided to delete it in 1986. In 1898 Mahler titrate it “Titan”. Inspired on the Johann Paul Richter (1763-1825) novel, it’s the story of a man who faced the ignominy of this world thanks to an exceptional self-power.
