MELALEUCA PLACE
A Collaborative Service for
Children with Complex Trauma
Who Are We? What Do We Do? -
Comprehensive assessments of the biological, psychological, social, and cultural aspects of the child and their system
-
Provide attachment and trauma focused therapies (e.g. attachment/dyadic work, play-based therapies, sensory-based therapies, group work, family-based therapies, psychoeducation, life story work)
-
Work collaboratively with the child and the system around the child to determine intervention goals
-
Facilitating the development of a cohesive therapeutic care team that has a shared understanding of the child’s strengths and needs, and works collaboratively to meet the child’s best interests
-
Provide a flexible and peripatetic approach to service delivery—seeing the child at the most appropriate venue for that child or others within their wider system
