2010 Cooperator of Year-Chair & Director C. Robb toured nominated ranches, Malama Solomon, Dolores Ramos, Burt & Penny Miranda, Duke Kapuniai, as well as Waikoloa Outdoor Circle’s Dry Land Forest Restoration Project, Bert & Penny Miranda, B Plus Ranch was chosen for Rancher of the Year & Waikoloa Outdoor Circle also for their project, Kona SWCD will be hosting event this year on 04/09/11, Kona SWCD will get back to MKSWCD with details of where and what time event will be held
Chair as HACD Island VP has set a 04/01/11 all island meeting in Hilo, location & time to be announced, draft agenda items include County funding, SWCD’s working together

Oiwi Lokahi O Ka Mokupuni O Keawe, gorse removal project has secured new funding and will be beginning again soon, Conservation Plan needs updating to include both a diesel fuel spillway by tank & an area to wash trucks before they leave the site, sediment basins need to be built approved

Old Business/
Lower Hamakua Ditch Agreement- Chair has been in contact with NRCS representative and feels that MKSWCD should sign agreement, BOD’s concerns about MKSWCD being responsible for funding were discussed and MKSWCD will not be paying, USDA will be providing funding, BOD approves signing of agreement
New Business/
Earthfest 2011- Kona SWCD has asked all Hawaii Island SWCD’s for a $1,000 donation to support Earthfest 2011, main event held at Keauhou Beach Hotel, Treasurer C. Robb advises against this donation due to lack of funds and event not in MKSWCD, BOD does not approve $1,000 donation, but wishes to provide technical support for Earthfest 2011 event(s) held in Waimea, suggestion was made for more lead time in asking for donation which may result in donation given
Morgan Toledo approved to be an Associate Director for MKSWCD
