RESEARCH INTEREST AND SPECIALIZATION

Main research interests include Postharvest Physiology & Crop Physiology in vegetables (chile pepper & onion), salinity stress, and plant mineral nutrition. Good experience in field days (extension) in plot experiments including common bean, soybean, peanut, cotton, onion for seed production, oats and chile pepper (jalapeño, New Mexican type & Cayenne) for farmers, extension service technicians, researchers, and industry groups. Good knowledge with LI-COR 6000 Photosynthesis Meter, Schollander Pressure Bomb, Vapor Pressure osmometer, LI-COR leaf area meter, Minolta Chromameter, Conductivity meter (cell membrane leakage assessment), Statistics (SAS software), greenhouse plant production experience, and personal computer utilization.
