Geographic distribution: Brazil (BA) .

Comments: Bacescu (1981: 77) confused the genus Parapagurapseudopsis with Pagurapseudopsis Shiino, 1963, therefore he considered that the species Parapagurapseudopsis carinata Brum, 1973, should be included in a new genus, named by him Brumia. Consequently Brumia Bacescu, 1980, is a synonym of Parapagurapseudopsis Brum, 1973.

Genus Pakistanapseudes Bacescu, 1978

Pakistanapseudes brasiliensis Gutu, 1996

Description and diagnosis: Gutu, 1996: 45.

Geographic distribution: Brazil (BA).

Comments: Although Brum (1973; 1974) and all the authors referring to this species included it in the genus Apseudes Leach, 1814, I believe that it belongs to the genus Parapseudes.

Genus Saltipedis Gutu, 1995

Description and diagnosis: Gardiner, 1975a: 138.

References: Gardiner, 1975a: 138, figs. 60A-N, 61A-H, 62A-K; Bacescu, 1979: 3; Kudinova-Pasternak & Pasternak, 1981: 118, fig. 5 (map); Sieg, 1983a: 207.

Geographic distribution: Brazil (PE).

Comments: According to Gardiner (1975a: 142) it appears that the species was collected at Recife, but from the station coordinates (op. cit.: 7), I infer that the collection was made outside territorial waters. The same data (op. cit.: 7) implies that N. barfoedi Wolf, 1956, came from Recife, but this is contradicted by the details given on pp. 151 and 242 as well as species distribution map (fig. 99).

Geographic distribution: Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Brazil (RJ).

Comments: The status of this species is in dispute, and it has being included in different genera and families. Because of this I have adopted, without any scientifical basis, the name most often for records in Brazilian waters.
