FUNDING SOURCE:

For 34 years, Memphis Antiques Garden and Gourmet Show served as the major source of funds. Our membership is now exploring new opportunities to support this grant in the future.

FUNDING PROCESS:

Funds are divided between a charity designated as the “primary recipient” and various charities designated as “secondary recipients”. The primary recipient is chosen in the previous year so that it can “partner” with us in fundraising and promoting the upcoming project. Secondary recipients will be selected from applications received by the deadline prior to the fundraiser (January 31, 2013).
For 2013, Madonna Circle has chosen our publication as this year’s project. It has always been the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts. Our goal is a dynamic publication dedicated to the topic of children with special needs.
At this time, Madonna Circle plans for our 2014 fundraiser to bring back renowned Humorist Jeanie Robertson for another fantastic performance at the Germantown Performing Arts Center. If you wish to submit an application for primary funds in 2014, you may do so also by Thursday January 31, 2013.
THE SELECTION PROCESS:
Applications must be received by the deadline. A Finance Committee

will evaluate applications and make funding recommendations to the Madonna

Circle Board of Directors. A primary recipient for the next year’s fundraiser will be selected and several secondary recipients will be selected to receive funds from the current grant year. Organizations being considered for primary recipient may require further review (i.e., interview or site visit) and if so, will be contacted by the Finance Committee Chairman. The Circle’s Board of Directors makes all final decisions regarding approval of grant requests. Grant requests will be assessed primarily on the following criteria:
1) Goals and objectives of the project/program

2) Feasibility of the project/program

3) Agency’s ability to accomplish implementation of the project/program

4) Agency’s ability to affect real change through documented outcomes and quantifiable achievement of goals and objectives of the project/program

5) Demonstration of need

6) Leveraging of Madonna Circle’s funds and resources to have the greatest beneficial impact on our community

7) Agency’s financial solvency

8) Agency’s past performance and effectiveness

9) Agency’s accountability for using funds received for intended purpose
