Instructions for integrating Macintosh Capture/Retouching station to a Portrait One solution.
Server:

Install AppleTalk protocol:
Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove programs->Windows Components->Other Network components and in the sub menu check “file sharing for Macintosh” and ’Print sharing for Macintosh”

In a CMD prompt use following syntax:
macfile volume /add /server:\\dataserver /name:pictues /path:d:\pictures
This will add d:\pictures on “dataserver” as a shared folder called “pictures” for a Macintosh user
Workstation (Macintosh)

Set IP address

Set protocol to AppleTalk

Select Chooser in Apple menu

Highlight Appleshare and Select “dataserver” from menu

Logon Microsoft UMA and install Windows 2000 authentication if needed else use Apple authentication and select to keep connection and to remember username.

If server does not show in list previous macfile command was not successfully used or DNS has not been properly installed and/or right network card has not been selected for handling incoming AppleTalk sessions on win2k server.
This will all be added in to Windows 2000 server Unattended script. |
