We have given a letter to the minister of I & B on 28.5.08 demanding a cadre review for programme staff. This demand should have been made long back as we find a peculiar situation in our department where by there has been no cadre review in the group-B and group-C programme cadres in the past 46 years. This is so inspite of the group-B RR having been amended 50 times till date added with a major infusion of cadres in 1984.The cadre review committee constituted for the engineering and administrative has been done by prasar bharti. Anonymous I just dont know how long we are going to file cases against injustice from all quarters and lose time and money in the process. It is time something is done to settle service matters once and for all without any ambiguity not giving admin people scope to misinterpret rules which out SDs also believe to be the truth even though the court overturns the ruling even the SDs seem to get a perverse pleasure out of the trouble the programme people were put to. Maybe the SDs should be dragged to court citing malafide intentions on such injustices. Even if the court doesnt indict SD, they will feel the pinch like us. Henceforth psa should demand MIB to considerour demands regarding cadre structure , acp, stagnation,etc. There is strong base to upgrade trex to 7450--11500,pex--8000--13500 because of more than 17 year stagnation intrex and pex cadre.In Most cases 6500---10500 scale has been upgraded tom7450--11500 and 7500--12000 to 8000--13500 by cpc.So psa should take steps in this regard and acp accordingly. It has given weightage on Rank No only without knowing the details of recruitment process. All the Trexes are not recruited through single examination even though in the same year. Kumar Now the new Programme,DG.Time to push the demand for making PEX s Group A and to include in the JTS.The grade of the SDs also must be enhanced. Anonymous Courts are of no use. We should put pressure on the directorate by not complying with their orders which require us to do extra work like flagship jingles, sending statements, etc and working beyond duty hours. Why should we be penalised for their incompetence? The programme peoples' problem is that they think they are responsible for the programmes while other cadres don't consider their job so and get their things done while programme people are toiling in front of antique machines or running after transport which is controlled by admin to cover OB. Even the EAs marked for OB duty will ask the programme person if the vehicle is ready, not the transport section. Even for technical failure, mistakes in news programme people will be blamed but when it comes to giving importance other cadres get it more than they deserve. The indigestible part is that this rubbing salt into wound is being done also by programme people themselves when they go up in hierarchy. Many times our own people are our worst enemies but the irony is that they too are our members. Maybe the central PSA could exert pressure on these members when they act like stooges of directorate or other cadres! At the same time central PSA should also protect those members when dte tries to take action against them citing 'responsibility as station head'. Anonymous Programme people should stop thinking from the perspective of management if they want to get what is their rightful place. In DD only the EA should operate the selection button for monitor selection while the prog person can only tell which to select. In the micro seconds lost the spontaneity is lost but then who is bothered about all that. People blame lacklustre DD programmes! We should assert ourselves. No one but the programme person should produce programme and not allow any one else like announcer and others to do programme. We are only happy to accommodate them to reduce our work load but lose our position in the process. Alternately the station heads have one more weapon in their hand to threaten programme people.
