Steve Palmer led prayer around the altar. The assistant Moderator Rev. Jim Tharpe led the congregation in the pledges to the American and Christian Flags, and the Holy Bible. The Moderator asked that all standing delegates, which includes all Ministers, Deacons, and Sunday School Superintendents, to stand and constitute a quorum. A total of 34 delegates were present. He spoke about how busy we are but reminded us we need to take the time to do the work of the Lord. We need to be concerned for those around us; that they be saved. He reminded us that we probably aren’t doing “too much”, we can always do more. We need to take action and not make excuses. We should be excited to worship God. We should labor in the work being thankful for the opportunity to serve. We should invite our neighbors to worship with us or to receive Gods great forgiveness regardless of their nationality or color. Every human has a soul that needs to know the Lord. We should not be ashamed to stand for Christ.
An invitation was given while singing “Where Could I Go” .

The Moderator asked Rev. Mark Polston to come preach the Mission Sermon. Bro. Mark read Luke 2:8-20. He spoke to us concerning the need for all to be missionaries of the word of God. He described the work using three words. “Go” “Do” and Being” Led by the Spirit to “go”. When God says “go” we must go. Seek Gods direction in what we do. “Do” his will and not our own. We should not be judgemental of the work that God has for others to do. Bro. Mark read John 2:1-11 showing us how the work of the Lord can be done through us if we “do” his will. God does not send us on “wild goose chases”. We may not understand why we are asked to do something but Christ will reveal himself if we obey. It’s not about us its about him. He can change water into wine. He can use us if we “Go and Do”. “Being” steadfast, sure, unmoveable. Don’t say one thing and do something diametrically different. Always abound in the work of the Lord. Trumpet the cause of Christ. As we know our labor is not in vain, we should “GO, DO and BE” what God wants us to be. If we follow these three words, we will be a missionary for the work of the Lord.

He spoke to us concerning our being worthy to partake of the communion and feet washing. We are worthy because Christ has bought us with a price. We are one of his and counted worthy. If we find our self unworthy we can ask the Father to make us worthy. He gave his Son to make us worthy. All we need to do is come to him confessing our sin and he can make us worthy. He read John 2:1-9 and John 9:24 and 25. Bro. Jerry mentioned how he uses the saying “I don’t know” from time to time when he’s unsure about something in life. He would rather admit he is uncertain rather than lead someone astray. He is certain though of the fact that God saved him and called him to preach and into the mission field. He is very thankful to God for all that he has done for him and what he knows he will provide. Bro. Jerry encouraged us to support each other. Pray one for another. Speak well one of another. Jimmy spoke of loving to preach about the Kingdom. The new birth is your entrance to the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom is at hand. Jesus is on the throne. Jesus loves us. He gave himself for us. We have a promise. All we need to do is accept it. The Lord will direct us in this work if we obey his voice. He will give the pastors the sermon they need. He will let us know what song to sing. We need to be obedient. We have not suffered like our ancestors have. We should read our Bible and know the straight road we are walking. The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the only safe rule of faith and practice.
