HERBERT HOLDRICH WILLIAMSON (1860-1940). M.R.C.S., (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Herbert Holdrich Williamson (1860-1940) [Epsom College 1873-1878. prefect] was the son of Dr James Williamson, of Mildmay Park, North London, brother of Edwin James Williamson [Epsom College 1874-1881], Dr Charles Frederick Williamson [Epsom College 1876-1882], and Augustus Stanley Williamson [Epsom College 1878-1883]. He received his medical education at University College Hospital, and went into general practice at Ludgershall, Andover, Hampshire, where he was also Medical Officer of Health and Public Vaccinator for the 5th District, Pewsey Union.


GRAHAM PHILIP GODFREY (1860-1901). L.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., & L.M. (Edin.).

Graham Philip Godfrey (1860-1901) [Epsom College 1875-1877. Rugby XV] was the son of Thomas Godfrey, surgeon, of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He received his medical education at Edinburgh University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital. No other details known.




HERBERT CHAMNEY HODGES (1860-1922). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Herbert Chamney Hodges (1860-1922) [Epsom College 1870-1875] was the son of H. B. Hodges, surgeon, of Walton, Hertfordshire, brother of Harold May Hodges [Epsom College 1874-1877], the Rev. Alexander Vaux Hodges [Epsom College 1874-1877], and father of Harold Wardale Hodges [Epsom College 1907-1812], and Eric Jordan Hodges [Epsom College 1909-1911]. He received his medical education at St Thomas’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Watton-at-Stone, Hertfordshire, where he was also the Medical Officer for the 4th District of the Hertford Union. He was a Fellow of the Obstetrical Society of London.


EDWARD WILLIAM MARSHALL (1860-1926). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Edward William Marshall (1860-1926) [Epsom College 1875-1877] was the son of Edward Marshall, surgeon, of Mitcham, Surrey. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Mitcham, Surrey, where he was also Medical Officer of Health and Public Vaccinator for the No 6 District of the Croydon Union, Surrey.


GEORGE KIRKHOUSE (1860-1894). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

George Kirkhouse (1860-1894) [Epsom College 1872-1879. Rugby XV] was the son of George Kirkhouse, surgeon, of Pontardawe, Llangwick, Glamorgan. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Pershore, Worcestershire. He died at Pershore, in 1894, aged 34 years.


GEORGE BEAMAN HICKS (1860-1941). M.R.C.S. (Eng.).

George Beaman Hicks (1860-1941) [Epsom College 1872-1876. Cricket XI] was the son of G. B. Hicks, surgeon, of Hackney, London. He received his medical education at the London Hospital, and went into general practice at Hackney, East London.


ARTHUR WILLIAM HOGG (1860- ? ). L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S. (Edin.), L.F.P.S. (Glas.).

Arthur William Hogg (1860- ? ) [Epsom College 1872-1879. Cricket XI. MacFarlane Cup] was the son of Charles Hogg, F.R.C.S. of Aldersgate Street, London, and brother of George Samuel Hogg [Epsom College 1864-1864]. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Edinburgh University, and went into general practice at Ealing, West London, where he was also Surgeon for the Ealing Cottage Hospital. He later emigrated to Natal, South Africa. He was a member of the United Hospitals Rugby XV, and the Middlesex County Rugby XV.


CONISTON SPACKMAN (1860-1906). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Coniston Spackman (1860-1906) [Epsom College 1874-1877] was the son of F. C. Spackman, surgeon, of Faringdon, Berkshire. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Hove, Sussex.


GEORGE LENNOX MOORE (1860-1942). L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S. (Edin.).

George Lennox Moore (1860-1942) [Epsom College 1874-1878] was the son of Dr George Moore, of Upper Berkeley Street, London. He received his medical education at the Westminster Hospital and Edinburgh University, and went into general practice in Mayfair, London. He was Medical Officer to the Constitutional Club, Northumberland Avenue, London.


JAMES THOMAS BRICKWELL (1860-1906). L.S.A. (Lond.).

James Thomas Brickwell (1860-1906) [Epsom College 1875-1875] was the son of B. A. Brickwell, surgeon, of Amersham, Buckinghamshire. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice in Tottenham, North London. No further details found.


HENRY COLMAN (1860-1942). L.R.C.P. (Lond.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Henry Colman (1860-1942) [Epsom College 1879-1879. Cricket XI] was the son of F. C. Colman, warehouseman, of Kew, Surrey. He received his medical education at Charing Cross Hospital, and went into general practice at Reigate, Surrey.


STANLEY MOLESWORTH ROOME (1861-1892). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Stanley Molesworth Roome (1861-1892) [Epsom College 1874-1880] was the son of Dr Henry Roome, of Parkhurst, Isle of Wight, and brother of Dr Henry Abercrombie Roome [Epsom College 1871-1874]. He received his medical education at University College Hospital and Edinburgh University. He then emigrated to Tasmania, and died there in 1892, aged 31 years. No further details known.


SHIRLEY LAWRENCE WOOLMER (1861-1935). M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Shirley Lawrence Woolmer (1861-1935) [Epsom College 1872-1880. Brande and Engledue Prizes] was the son of S. E. Woolmer, surgeon, of Halesworth, Suffolk. He received his medical education at University College Hospital. He then emigrated to Buenos Aires and took up general practice at Concordia, Province of Entre Rios, Argentina.


REV. GEORGE RORY JOHN WELLES FLETCHER (1861-1944). M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

George Rory John Welles Fletcher (1861-1944) [Epsom College 1873-1880. prefect] was the son of J. W. Fletcher, surgeon, of Upton-on-Severn, Worcestershire. He received his medical education at Charing Cross Hospital, where he was subsequently appointed Assistant Demonstrator in Chemistry and Physiology. He then took up an appointment as Resident Medical Officer at the Lock Hospital and Worcester General Infirmary. He was a Corresponding Member of the Association of Military Surgeons of the USA. In 1902, he became a Roman Catholic Priest with a parish at Northfleet, Kent.


JAMES MOORE BENNETT (1861-1915). L.R.C.P.I. and L.M., L.S.A. (Lond.).

James Moore Bennett (1861-1915) [Epsom College 1873-1877] was the son of Dr J. M. Bennett, of Liverpool, and brother of Wilfred Lawson Bennett [Epsom College 1873-1878]. He received his medical education at University College, Liverpool (Liverpool University), and went into general practice at Ruddington, Nottinghamshire, after an appointment as Resident Medical Officer for Toxteth Park Infirmary, Liverpool.


EDWIN WHITFIELD DAWSON KITE (1861-1917). M.B. (Durham), M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Edwin Whitfield Dawson Kite (1861-1917) [Epsom College 1876-1879] was the son of W. J. Kite, surgeon, of West Bromwich, West Midlands, and brother of William Stuart Kite [Epsom College 1871-1874]. He received his medical education at Durham University and won a Scholarship to Queen’s College, Birmingham. He was appointed Medical Officer of Health for Wortley, West Yorkshire, and Assistant Surgeon to Birmingham General Hospital.


ERNEST EVAN LLEWELLYN (1861-1939). L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S. (Edin.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Ernest Evan Llewellyn (1861-1939) [Epsom College 1874-1875] was the son of Dr Ll. Llewellyn, of Whitechapel Road, East London. He received his medical education at the London Hospital and Edinburgh University. He went into general practice at Ramsey, Huntingdonshire, and was Medical Officer of Health for Ramsey, Huntingdonshire U.D.C.


FREDERICK SLOMAN (1861-1953). M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Frederick Sloman (1861-1953) [Epsom College 1874-1875] was the son of S. G. Sloman, surgeon, of Farnham, Surrey, and brother of Dr Samuel George Sloman [Epsom College 1862-1864]. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Brighton, Sussex.


JOHN MARRIOTT (1861-1905). M.B. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

John Marriott (1861-1905) [Epsom College 1877-1879] was the son of the Rev. W. A. Marriott, of Leicester. He received his medical education at Charing Cross Hospital, and went into general practice at Northampton. He died in 1905, aged 44.


MOWBRAY MEGGINSON (1861-1917). M.R.C.S. (Eng.).

Mowbray Megginson (1861-1917) [Epsom College 1876-1880] was the son of Dr Robert Megginson, of Snainton, Yorkshire. He received his medical education at the London Hospital, and went into general practice at Scarborough, Yorkshire.


THOMAS WALMSLEY HEYWOOD (1861-1929). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. Ire.) & L.M., D.P.H., J.P.

Thomas Walmsley Heywood (1861-1929) [Epsom College 1877-1879] was the son of H. J. Heywood, surgeon, of Pendleton, Lancashire, and brother of Harry Jordan Heywood [Epsom College 1877-1880]. He received his medical education at Owen’s College (Manchester University), and went into general practice at Darwen, Lancashire. During the First World War he served as a Captain in the R.A.M.C. (1914-1918), and was surgeon for the ‘Merton Hall’ and ‘Stentor’ submarines. He was a J.P. for the Borough of Darwen.


JAMES RALPH COLLYER (born 1861). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

James Ralph Collyer (born 1861) [Epsom College 1874-1877] was the son of James Collyer, surgeon, of Enfield, Middlesex. He received his medical education at St George’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Playden, Sussex. No further details found.




GILES REYNOLDS AYSHFORD (1861-1931). M.B., C.M. (Edin.).

Giles Reynolds Ayshford (1861-1931) [Epsom College 1877-1879] was the son of G. R. Ayshford, surgeon, of Broad Clyst, Devon. He received his medical education at Edinburgh University, and went into general practice at Axminster, Devon.


HENRY HOLDRICH FISHER (1861-1934). M.D., M.B. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.)

Henry Holdrich Fisher (1861-1934) [Epsom College 1875-1880. prefect] was the son of Dr C. H. Fisher, of Southampton, brother of Dr Charles Stuart Fisher [Epsom College 1877-1883], and father of Surgeon Commander Hubert Holdrich Fisher, R.N. [Epsom College 1912-1916]. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Sittingbourne, Kent, where he was also Medical Officer of Health for Sittingbourne. He was previously Senior Medical Officer at Pendlebury General Hospital.


CHARLES KESSICK BOWES (1862-1926). M.A. (Cantab.), M.B., B.Ch., (Lond.), M.D. (Oxon.).

Charles Kessick Bowes (1862-1926) [Epsom College 1873-1881. prefect. Brande, Propert and Martin Prizes. Forest Exhibition. Gilchrist Scholarship] was the son of John Bowes, surgeon, of Herne Bay, Kent, and brother of William Henry Bowes, F.R.C.S. [Epsom College 1873-1880]. He won an Open Scholarship in Mathematics to Christ Church, Oxford, and a Scholarship to St Bartholomew’s Hospital. He went into general practice at Herne Bay, Kent, and served also as Honorary Physician to Herne Bay Hospital, and Physician to Blean Infirmary and District Hospital. He was selected for the Oxford University Boat Club Trial VIIIs.


WALTER SOUTHEY WRIGHT (1862-1929). B.A. (Oxon.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), L.S.A. (lond.).

Walter Southey Wright (1862-1929) [Epsom College 1876-1881. Entrance Scholarship. head prefect. Rugby XV. Cricket XI.] was the son of J. F. Wright, surgeon, of Portman Square, London, and brother of the Rev. Henry Charles Wright [Epsom College 1867-1871]. He received his medical education at Balliol College, Oxford, St Mary’s and Guy’s Hospitals, and went into general practice at Wool, Dorset. He was appointed an Admiralty Surgeon, and Medical Officer for the Winfrith District of the Wareham Union. He was Civil Surgeon for Bovington Military Camp.


JOHN JAMES WILLIAMSON CAMPBELL (1862-1946). L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S. (Edin.), L.F.P.S. (Glas.).

John James Williamson Campbell (1862-1946) [Epsom College 1875-1880] was the son of Dr John Campbell, of Knaphill, Woking, Surrey, and brother of Dr Patrick Edward Campbell [Epsom College 1871-1873]. He received his medical education at Edinburgh University, and went into general practice at Castleford, Yorkshire.


FREDERICK OSMUND ROBERT STEDMAN (1862-1927). M.D., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.), J.P. (Hong Kong).

Frederick Osmund Robert Stedman (1862-1927) [Epsom College 1875-1881. Rugby XV] was the son of Dr Arthur Stedman, of Great Bookham, Surrey, and brother of Eustace Arthur Stedman [Epsom College 1878-1882]. He won an Entrance Scholarship to Charing Cross Hospital, and went into general practice at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Sometime later he emigrated to Hong Kong where he was in practice for 25 years. He was President of the Hong Kong and China Branch of the British Medical Association, and a member of the Central Council of the B.M.A. (1904-1906; 1920-1921). He was a J.P. for Hong Kong.


ARTHUR ZELL CLAYDON CRESSY (1862-1933). M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Arthur Zell Claydon Cressy (1862-1933) [Epsom College 1875-1878] was the son of W. E. Cressy, surgeon, of Wallington, Surrey, and brother of Dr Charles James Cressy [Epsom College 1875-1876]. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Wallington, Surrey, where he was also Medical Officer of Health and Public Vaccinator for the 7th District of the Croydon Union. The Cressy family were medical practitioners in the Wallington district back to the time of the French Revolution. Arthur Cressy founded the Carshalton Cottage Hospital and was Senior Surgeon there from its opening in 1899. He was also largely responsible for the building of the District War Memorial Hospital in 1924. “He was never happy away from his work, and found holidays merely a source of irritation. He was an unforgettable figure in his grey whipcord coat and white hunting stock, with his ruddy complexion and a gold-rimmed monocle.”


WILLIAM KEMP (1862-1950). M.B., C.M. (Edin.).

William Kemp (1862-1950) [Epsom College 1878-1881. Cricket XI] was the son of Dr E. W. Kemp, of Normanton, Yorkshire, and brother of Herbert Lindley Kemp [Epsom College 1878-1882]. He received his medical education at Edinburgh University, and went into general practice at Castleford, Yorkshire, where he was also Medical Officer of Health for Castleford U.D.C., and a Factory Surgeon for the Castleford District.


PHILIP JOHNSON (1862-1951). L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S., L.M. (Edin.), L.F.P.S. (Glas.).

Philip Johnson (1862-1951) [Epsom College 1875-1877] was the son of William Johnson, solicitor, of New Inn, Pontypool, Torfaen. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital. He was appointed Surgeon to the Union Castle Line Steamship Company, and Surgeon to the Leyland Line Steamship Company. He was then appointed Principal Medical Officer for the Bolivar Railway Company, Venezuela. On returning to England he was appointed Medical Officer for the Dolton District of Devonshire.


ALFRED JOHN WRIGHT (1862-1910). M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Alfred John Wright (1862-1910) [Epsom College 1878-1880] was the son of Dr John Wright, of Leicester, and brother of Dr Samuel Reginald Wright [Epsom College 1881-1885]. He received his medical education at Charing Cross Hospital, and was appointed Medical Officer of Health and Public Vaccinator for the Market Bosworth District Union.


FREDERICK THRESHER GRIFFIN (1862-1938). M.B., C.M. (Edin.).

Frederick Thresher Griffin (1862-1938) [Epsom College 1873-1878. Rugby XV. Cricket XI] was the son of Dr R. W. W. Griffin, of Southampton, brother of Dr John Griffin [Epsom College 1879-1878], and Major William Wandby Griffin [Epsom College 1873-1877]. He received his medical education at Edinburgh University, and went into general practice at Southampton, where he was Chairman of the Medical Board for the Southampton Area, and Medical Officer to the Southampton Dispensary. During the First World War he was attached to the staff of the military hospital at Highfield. As a member of the Hampshire County Cricket XI he once had the distinction of catching out Dr W. G. Grace in the deep field on the County ground. He was also a member of the Hampshire County Rugby XV.


ANDREW ELLIS WYNTER (1862-1932). M.D. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Andrew Ellis Wynter (1862-1932) [Epsom College 1873-1881. Captain of the Rugby XV. Cricket XI. MacFarlane Cup] was the son of Dr Andrew Wynter, of Chiswick, West London, and brother of Dr Walter Essex Wynter, F.R.C.P. [Epsom College 1873-1878]. He won a Surrey Scholarship to St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and after qualification, went into general practice at Beckenham. At the commencement of the South African War he enlisted as a surgeon, but was invalided out with what he termed ‘typho-malaria’. After the South African War, Andrew Wynter visited by turns all the British Dominions, developing a passionate enthusiasm for the Empire, which dominated his later life. He then joined an expedition to Central Africa at a time when it was just being opened up to British occupation. When the war between the United States and Spain started, he joined the American Forces as a surgeon, and served in Cuba. For his last twelve years, Andrew Wynter devoted his life to social work, subscribing regularly to many of the institutions in aid of the youth of the day – dockland settlements, orphanages and emigration movements.


RICHARD HENSLEIGH WALTER (1862-1924). M.B., C.M. (Edin.), F.S.A.

Richard Hensleigh Walter (1862-1924) [Epsom College 1877-1880] was the son of W. W. Walter, surgeon, of Stoke-sub-Hamdon, Somerset, brother of Dr William Henry Walter [Epsom College 1870-1871], and Dr Walter Ernest Walter [Epsom College 1873-1875]. He received his medical education at Edinburgh University, where he was Silver Medallist and Demonstrator in Practical Anatomy and Pathology. He went into general practice at Stoke-sub-Hamdon, Somerset, and was Medical Officer of Health and Public Vaccinator for the 6th District, Yeovil Union.


THOMAS MILES BEALE (1862- ? ). M.R.C.S. (Eng.).

Thomas Miles Beale (1862- ? ) [Epsom College 1874-1879. Cricket XI] was the son of T. M. Beale, surgeon, of Hammersmith. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Richmond, Surrey. He was last recorded in 1902.


CHARLES MORTIMER LEWIS (1862-1910). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Charles Mortimer Lewis (1862-1910) [Epsom College 1876-1880. Rugby XV. Cricket XI] was the son of Dr C. F. Lewis, of Henfield, Sussex, and brother of Dr Frederick Lewis [Epsom College 1877-1884]. He received his medical education at St Thomas’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Haslemere, Surrey.


ALEXANDER NATHANIEL GRIEVE (1862-1922). M.A., M.B., C.M. (Aberdeen).

Alexander Nathaniel Grieve (1862-1922) [Epsom College 1876-1878] was the son of A. C. Grieve, surgeon, of Fraserburgh, Scotland. He received his medical education at Aberdeen University. He served in the South African War (1900), and later settled in Barberton, South Africa, where he died in 1922. No further details known.


WILLIAM HALLEY (1862-1934). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

William Halley (1862-1934) [Epsom College 1876-1882. head prefect] was the son of Dr Alexander Halley, M.D., of Queen Anne Street, London. He received his medical education at Charing Cross Hospital, and went into general practice at Cranleigh, Surrey. He was previously Resident Obstetric Officer at Charing Cross Hospital, and a Divisional Surgeon for the Metropolitan Police.


DAVID CLEMENT LIONEL WILLIAMS (1862-1908). L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S. (Edin.), L.F.P.S. (Glas.).

David Clement Lionel Williams (1862-1908) [Epsom College 1877-1881. Rugby XV] was the son of Dr John Williams, M.D. of Watergate, Brecknock. He received his medical education at St Thomas’s Hospital and Edinburgh University, and went into general practice at Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire. He was previously Medical Officer of Health for the Croyland District, Lancashire.


FRANK HICHENS (1862-1942). M.D., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.), D.P.H. (Eng.).

Frank Hichens (1862-1942) [Epsom College 1873-1880. Rugby XV] was the son of J. S. Hichens, surgeon, of Redruth, Cornwall, brother of James Harvey Hichens [Epsom College 1870-1878), and Dr William Cardozo Hichens [Epsom College 1876-1882]. He won an Entrance Science Scholarship to the London Hospital, where he won the Gold Medal in theIntermediate M.B. Examination, and Scholarships in Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry and Surgery. He was appointed Medical Officer of Health for Redruth U.D.C., Cornwall; Medical Officer for the St.Stithian’s District and Public Vaccinator, Redruth Union, and Surgeon to the Cornwall Miner’s Hospital and Hospital for Women. He was also an Admiralty Surgeon and Agent.


GEORGE HERBERT LANG (1862-1916). M.D. (Lond.), M.R.C.S. (Eng.).

George Herbert Lang (1862-1916) [Epsom College 1878-1881. prefect] was the son of Dr John Lang, of Southport, Lancashire. He received his medical education at University College Hospital, where he won the Silver Medal for Chemistry. He was appointed Assistant Medical Superintendent at the St Pancras Infirmary, as well as Obstetric and Surgical Assistant at University College Hospital. Some time later he was appointed Senior Assistant Medical Superintendent at the St Pancras Infirmary. He later emigrated to Jansenville, Cape Colony, South Africa, and died there in 1916.


ALAN RIGDEN (1862-1912). M.D. (Durham), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Alan Rigden (1862-1912) [Epsom College 1879-1881] was the son of George Rigden, surgeon, of Canterbury. He received his medical education at St George’s Hospital and Durham University. He was appointed Senior Medical Officer and Physician Superintendent of the Salop and Montgomery Counties Asylum, Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury.


ARTHUR JERVIS (1863-1932). M.D. (Durham), B.S., M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.P.H. (Cantab.).

Arthur Jervis (1863-1932) [Epsom College 1875-1878. Senior and Junior Scholarships] was the son of Dr Thomas Jervis, J.P. of Connaught Square, London, brother of the Rev. John Jervis [Epsom College 1872-1878], and Thomas Jervis [Epsom College 1872-1877]. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Rugby, Warwickshire. During the First World War he served as a Captain in the R.A.M.C. (1914-1918), on Hospital Ships in the English Channel and in the Mediterranean. At one time he was Surgeon for the P. & O. Steamship Company.


ARTHUR CHARLES ADAMS LOVEGROVE (1863-1943). M.D. (Durham), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Arthur Charles Adams Lovegrove (1863-1943) [Epsom College 1872-1874] was the son of Dr Charles Lovegrove, of Sevenoaks, Kent. He received his medical education at the Western Hospital, and then went into general practice at Ripon, Yorkshire. He was at sometime Surgeon for the Ocean Steamship Company on the vessels ‘Britannia’, ‘Deucalion’, and ‘Telemon’.


FRANK JEFFREE (1863-1938). M.D. (Durham), A.K.C., M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.S.A. (Lond.).

Frank Jeffree (1863-1938) [Epsom College 1876-1878] was the son of John Jeffree, F.R.C.S. of Clapham Park, London. He received his medical education at King’s College Hospital and Durham University, and then went into general practice at Clapton Square, London, and served as Clinical Assistant at the Central Throat and Ear Hospital, London. He was sometime Visiting Surgeon at Stockport Infirmary.


THOMAS SANDBY COOMBE (1863-1933). B.A. (Cantab.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Thomas Sandby Coombe (1863-1933) [Epsom College 1874-1879] was the son of R. G. Coombe, surgeon, of Burnham, Essex. He received his medical education at a Non-Collegiate Institution (from Cavendish H.B.A.), Cambridge University, and Guy’s Hospital. He went into general practice at Purton, near Swindon, Wiltshire, and was Medical Officer of Health for the Cricklade and Wootton Bassett Union. He was previously Medical Officer of Health for Hoo District, Kent, and Medical Officer at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Hoo, Kent. He was sometime Medical Officer of Health for Purton District and Workhouse,
