Entolomatoid fungi from Moorea, French Polynesia, 2008-2009

Pileus 5-11 cm, slightly convex or plane, umbonate, slightly fibrillose-streaky, white or silvery white, with striate margin. Odor unpleasant. Lamellae pale pink, adnate, close or subdistant, thin, broad. Edges entire. Stipe 6-13 x 1-2 mm, translucent white, terete or compressed, curved slightly. Scattered, on soil.

Pileus 20 mm, convex, nearly plane, umbilicate, translucent-striate, moist, glabrous, pale orange-yellow. Context pale translucent orange, watery. Odor mild. Lamellae adnate, subdistant, thin, narrow, pale orange; edges entire; lamellulae present. Stipe 48 x 1.5 mm, equal, hollow, glabrous, pale translucent yellow; basal tomentum lacking. Solitary, on soil and/or leaf litter.

Pileus 11-29 mm, convex and papillate becoming plane and umbilicate, plicate-striate, sericeous, white. Context white, fungoid to fragrant or a bit peppery; taste slightly pungent. Lamellae sinuate, subdistant, thin, moderately broad, cream-colored becoming light pink; edges entire; lamellulae present. Stipe 20-30 mm x 1-2 mm, equal with slightly enlarged base, stuffed becoming hollow, glabrous, white to cream-colored. Basal mycelium white.

Pileus 17mm, convex, fibrillose, light brown, hygrophanous; margin splitting in age. Context very thin, light brown. Odor mild. Lamellae adnxed, close, thin, moderately broad; light pinkish-brown; edges entire; lamellulae present. Stipe 35mm x 1mm, equal, light buff at apex, brown below; fibrillose; hollow. Basal mycelium scant, white.

Pileus 7-17 mm, conical, papillate, glabrous, pale orangish-pink; hygrophanous. Context pale orange; odor and taste mild. Lamellae adnexed, close, very slightly thickened, broad, pale pinkish orange; edges entire; lamellulae present. Stipe 12-60 mm x 1-4 mm, equal, glabrous, solid becoming hollow, in age sometimes flattened slightly and/or twisted slightly; pale orangish-pink (similar to pileus but slightly paler); basal mycelium white.

Pileus 32 mm, plane with low umbo and uplifted margin that splits in age; appears to have been subconical to conical when young; glabrous, slightly waxy, yellow with slightly orange cast over disc. Context white; odor mild to slightly unpleasant. Lamellae adnexed, close to subdistant, thin to very slightly thickened, broad, light pinkish buff; edges entire; lamellulae present. Stipe 42 x 5 mm, equal with slightly bulbous base, mostly solid (hollow just at very center; glabrous, off-white, staining pale yellow. Basal mycelium not observed. Solitary on ground in Inocarpus fagifer - dominated forest with scattered Hibiscus tiliaceus and Miconia calvescens.

Pileus 15-17 mm, convex, umbonate, translucent-striate, slightly viscid; translucent white. Context translucent white; odor mild. Lamellae adnexed, close to subdistant, thin, broad, translucent white becoming pale pink; edges entire; lamellulae present. Stipe 40-45 x 2-2.5 mm, equal with abruptly bulbous base, glabrous, hollow, white. Basal mycelium white.

Pileus 20-54 mm, plane, papillate, subsericeous, pale olivaceous yellow; margin sometimes split in age; context white to pale greenish yellow; odor and taste mild. Lamellae sinuate, broad, thin, close, pale pink; edges entire or minutely fimbriate, sometimes eroded in age; lamellulae present. Stipe 44-82 x 4-10 mm; equal, hollow at center, fibrous, white to pale yellow. Basal tomentum absent. Scattered on ground in forest dominated by Inocarpus fagifer, Hibiscus tiliaceus, Miconia calvescens and Angiopteris sp. with abundant decaying wood.
