Qualitative Weather forecast :- Mainly dry with partly cloudy days.

Rice: As dry weather is expected in coming days and monsoon activity is also weak, farmers are advised to start transplanting after 15th June and irrigate the nursery regularly. If seedlings in nursery show the yellowing of leaf tips, spray them three times with 0.5-1 percent ferrous sulphate solution at weekly intervals.

It is the right time to sow nursery of Basmati varieties viz.-Pb Mehak, Pb Basmati No 2, Pusa Basmati no 1, Pusa 1121, Sper Basmati,

To protect the Basmati rice (Pusa 1121) from foot rot disease, soak the seed in 10 litres of water containing 20 g Bavistin and 1 g Streptocycline for 12 hours.

Sugarcane: Complete sowing of crop, as temperature is expected to rise in coming days, so farmers can apply irrigation to the crop. To control Iron deficiency (interveinal chlorosis), spray the crop with 1 % solution of ferrous sulphate ( 1 kg ferrous sulphate in 100 litres of water). Repeat the spray after weekly intervals.

Maize: It is the right time to sow maize hybrid varieties. Treat seed before sowing with Bavistin @ 3g per kg seed.

Fodder: Control manganese deficiency in barseem by spraying 0.5 % solution of manganese sulphate.

Conserve surplus Berseem as hay and oats as silage for cheap milk production in lean period. Remove kashni weed from Berseem seed crop.

Green Manure: Sow the crop like Dhaincha, Sunhemp to be buried before sowing of main season kharif crops

Vegetables: As temperature is expected to rise during these days, the farmers are advised to apply light and frequent irrigation to vegetable crops mainly to tomato and chillies others also like cucurbitis crops, bitter guard, watermelon and muskmelon. The muskmelon harvesting should be completed as high temperature could affect their quality.

Due to dry weather, take care of kharif onion for bulb set production and apply vegetable crops at least once a week.

It is the right time to harvest the seed of carrot and onion.

Due to continuous dry weather, spider mite attack has been noticed in vegetables causes yellowish white symptoms. To control these, spray 200 ml Rogor 30 EC in cucurbitis, 300 ml Kelathane 18.5 EC in brinjal, 250 ml metasystox 25 EC in okra & 400 ml Malathion 50 EC in chilli per acre.

Horticulture: As rise in temperature is expected in coming days, young and tender plants of citrus, mango, litchi, papaya should be covered with huts and thatches of sarkanda or date leaves. Irrigate the orchards regularly.

Pear: The crop is at fruit setting stage. Farmers are advised to apply irrigation to crop and spray the recommended dose against pear mite at some places.

Guava: The crop is at flowering stage and the prevailing weather is good for the crop.

Citrus: To control Psylla in citrus spray 625 ml Nuvacron 36 SL or 1000 ml Metasystox 25 EC or 100 ml or 1250 ml Rogor 30 EC in 500 litres of water per acre.

To protect the plants from scorching sun , lower portion of the exposed trunks should be white washed during these days with a thick lime solution (Lime slaked 25 kg, Copper sulphate 500 g, Gum saresh 500 g and water 100lts) during these days.

The ornamental plants should be shifted to shade nets and apply regular sprays of water.

Animal Husbandry:

Due to rise in temperature, Save the animals and poultry birds from heat stress by adopting efficient cooling systems. Feed the animals and birds during the cooler hours of the day. Provide free access of water to the birds and animals. Vaccinate the animals against FMD and HS disease.

Give more attention to look after young calves. Increase the use of mineral mixture in concentrate ration of dairy animals

Use less wheat straw to avoid compaction
