Insurance is a problem (C&S Regulation 4.1.3.l) as we cannot cover a club ‘teaching’ a dangerous activity. Contacts revised aims slightly to omit ‘teaching’. Motion 5: That the B-Boys be granted provisional approval pending confirmation of insurance cover. Moved: Liam Hedge Seconded: Cassie Lutzko CWD
No cross over with Iranian Society. Club is political, and not culturally-based. Motion 6: That Iran Solidarity be granted initial approval Moved: Chair CWD
Cross over with Socialist Alternative discussed. C&S Committee acknowledged the fragmented nature of the political left, and that Resistance & SA have no crossover of Expressions of Interest. Motion 7: That Resistance be granted initial approval Moved: Chair CWD
The committee discussed the vagueness of the aims. Current aims were considered to have too great a similarity with everything including UMSU Welfare and SALTS. The absence of a reference to their Christian connection was highlighted as a problem also. PlanetUni encouraged to change aims. Further discussion deferred to end of agenda

Procedural motion: To move to Agenda item 3.21 while the WISE Contacts were present. Moved: Shaun Khoo CWD Highlighted that a duplicate membership would exists, that the target group is virtually the same. WISE and Robogirls left to discuss the difference in aims. Further discussion deferred to end of agenda

Discussion of overlap with SALTS. Unsatisfactory evidence that the club was engaging in substantially different activities, or that SALTS would not be able to accommodate the interests of the Volunteers fro Future group. Chair requests that the meeting goes ‘in camera’. Fiona Sanders and club Contacts leave. Motion 14: That Volunteers for Future be rejected on grounds of 4.1.3.m and 4.1.3.f. The name of this club is an issue. It is vague. The aims were not sufficiently different from Cross-Cultural Dialogue Society. The Contact explained the objectives of the group and was invited to amend the name and aims. Further discussion deferred to end of agenda

Name of this club is problematic. Initials spell the founders name (Dian) and name is not clear. Motion 20: That the Dream Investment Across Nation be granted initial approval of the aims.
