CONFESSIONS: Saturdays 10.00 - 10-25 (with exposition) & 6.00 - 6.15pm MORNING PRAYER: is prayed each weekday at 8.50am (on Wednesday 9.30am). All welcome. THE ROSARY: is prayed twenty minutes prior to Mass/service, Monday to Friday (9.10am on Wednesday).
WELCOME: to Joseph James Findlay who is to be baptised into the life of our community this weekend. LUTON FOODBANK: please see the letter of thanks for ongoing support on the notice board. CHURCH CLEANING: if you can spare an hour or so any Wednesday your help would be very welcome. It takes place after 9.30am morning prayer. FILIPINO MASS: All are very welcome to a Filipino Mass, in honour of Our Lady’s birthday, on Sunday 6th September at St Martin de Porres (LU4 ONG). ‘Living Rosary’ at 2pm followed by the Filipino Mass at 4pm. Please bring food to share. Please spread the word. CONGRATULATIONS: to Paul Sullivan & Kayleigh Duncombe who marry here on Saturday. FAREWELL: sadly we say good bye to Carol Farr who has been our Book Keeper for a number of years and given very good service. We welcome Mrs Ann Collon who takes over this week. LUTON IRISH FORUM: Baby & toddler group will resume Friday 4th September at 102 Hitchin Rd, LU2 OES all very welcome. The group runs every Friday 9.30 - 11.00am during term time. We recommend a donation of £1 per adult & 50p per child, refreshments provided. ROME PILGRIMAGE: All are invited to join Fr Michael Patey (St Martin’s Parish) on a pilgrimage to Rome during the Jubilee Year of Mercy, 30th May - 3rd June 2016. DIOCESAN MASS: for those who are disabled or with special needs, their families and carers, takes place on Saturday, September 19th at St. John’s Church at 2pm, organised by the St. Thomas a Becket Foundation & will be followed by a fun party. His chauffeur wanting to impress him, said, " Hey Mr. Pope, anything that you want to do I will make it happen for you. Just name it." "Well," said The Pope thoughtfully, "now you mention it, I've often wanted to drive a car again. Back in the Vatican, they keep me pretty well holed up, and when I want to go out they drive me round in the in the Papal buggy, Just once more I would like to drive myself for a change ". "Hey," said the Chauffeur, "No problem." So they got out and changed places. The Pope had not driven far when he accidentally went through a red light. Immediately, one of those tough New York City cops drove up behind them, turned on his lights and pulled the car over. He strutted over to the limo, But before he reached it, he noticed that the Pope was driving, and went straight back to his car and called his chief on his radio. "Chief," he said, I just pulled over someone I should not have done" "What?" said his chief "You didn't pull over another cop did you?" "No chief" "he's bigger than that "said the cop. "You didn't pull over the Mayor, did you ?" "No chief," said the cop, "he's bigger than that." "Did you pull over the President of The United States?" "No, chief he's bigger than that," said the cop. "Well who did you pullover?" "I don't know," said the cop, "but whoever he is, he's got the Pope as his Chauffeur."
